Friend, do you know how to go to heaven?
1. To go to Heaven, I have to do good works.
We are saved by grace through faith – not of works.
Eph 2:8 KJV - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
[it is] the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 KJV - Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Rom 6:23 KJV - For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
2. To go to Heaven, I have to keep the Ten Commandments.
No one can be saved by keeping the law.
Exo 20:16 KJV - Thou shalt not bear false witness [tell a lie] against thy neighbour.
Jas 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one [point], he is guilty of all.
Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.
3. To go to Heaven, I have to quit sinning.
We are not saved by stopping our sinning but by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Rom 4:5 KJV - But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
4. The only thing that I have to do to go to Heaven is believe / trust that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again.
Act 16:30 KJV - And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
Act 16:31 KJV - And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Rom 10:13 KJV - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
5. It is not enough just to have faith in Christ; I must also do good works to go to Heaven.
Rom 4:5 KJV - But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Rom 11:6 And if by grace, then [is it] no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if [it be] of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
6. The best time to get saved is right now.
2Co 6:2 KJV - (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
1Ti 2:3 KJV - For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
1Ti 2:4 KJV - Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
7. I can be 100% certain that I am going to Heaven.
You can be 100% certain of going to Heaven if you have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ's shed blood as the payment for your sins.
1Jo 5:13 KJV - These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
